Outbound M&A Workshop: Shuanghui International’s US$7.1 Billion Acquisition of Smithfield Foods
Largest acquisition of a U.S. publicly-traded company by an Asian company in 2013, paving the way for increased Asia Outbound M&A
Paul Hastings invites you to participate in our outbound M&A workshop. This video workshop provides a focused review of some of the material technicalities and legal implications involved in the cross-border acquisition of a publicly-traded U.S. company. The workshop uses the recent landmark acquisition of Smithfield Foods, a NYSE-traded U.S. company, by Shuanghui International, the largest pork processor in China, as a case study.
The case study will highlight certain strategic, legal, taxation, and financing issues, along with CFIUS and other regulatory matters relating to mergers and acquisitions in the U.S.
U.S.-based Corporate partner Carl Sanchez, Chair of the Global M&A practice and lead U.S. partner on the Shuanghui/Smithfield transaction, will join us and answer any questions you may have.
