Global law firm White & Case LLP is launching its Australia practice with the opening of new offices in Melbourne

and Sydney and the addition of Adeline Pang, Ged Cochrane and Michelle Keen, who will join the Firm as 

partners.

White & Case partner Art Scavone, who leads the Firm's Global Energy, Infrastructure & Project Finance Practice,

The new partners join White & Case from Herbert Smith Freehills and are expected to arrive on or before 

December 8, 2016. They will be based in the new Melbourne office, which is due to open on December 1, 2016 

and will be followed by the opening of the new Sydney office in early 2017. They bring significant experience 

advising on major energy and infrastructure projects. Pang focuses her practice on energy and infrastructure 

project development; Cochrane advises clients on the acquisition and project financing of major energy and 

infrastructure projects; and Keen's practice is focused on environmental planning and permitting.

White & Case has previously announced that its Global Energy, Infrastructure & Project Finance Practice and 

Asia-Pacific business are being expanded with the arrival of ten new partners from Herbert Smith Freehills, who

will be based in the new Australia offices in Melbourne and Sydney, and in Hong Kong and Singapore. The 

expansion aligns with White & Case's strategy in Asia-Pacific to build on its global strengths and continue 

developing its client offering.

The Firm will have 40 offices in 28 countries following the opening of the new offices in Australia. As well as 

Melbourne and Sydney, the Firm's Asia-Pacific presence includes offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, 

Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo, as well as an association in Jakarta.
