Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales & Marketing Legal DESCRIPTION Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry providing IT services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database, machine learning and more. Key job responsibilities This Associate Corporate Counsel will be based in Seoul, Korea and primarily support AWS's Sales and Marketing teams in Korea and the broader Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising on cloud IT service agreements with a broad range of customers from startups to enterprises as well as our partner IT companies, will support local and regional marketing, training and digital transformation consulting activities, and will act as a counselor for senior management and other business team members. The role includes participating in other Amazon legal projects as directed, managing legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and managing complex regulatory issues. The successful candidate will be proactive, entrepreneurial, enjoy being challenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. Compensation will be based on experience and includes equity compensation. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading law school. - Licensed to practice law in Korea, the U.S. or other common law jurisdictions. - 2 to 6 years of legal experience; more experienced candidates should still apply. - Professional level fluency of Korean and English; must have strong ability to communicate orally and in writing, draft agreements and negotiate in Korean and English. - Transactional drafting and negotiation experience. - Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues and ideas clearly and concisely. - Ability to work independently and proactively, while also collaborating effectively with other legal team members and global business teams. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience at a leading law firm or technology company. - Familiarity with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing, AI/ML, or consulting contracts. - Familiarity with privacy and data protection laws.
