In the light of the recent English Commercial Court decision in W v M 2016 EWHC 429 (Comm) commenting on changes to the IBA rules, Luke Parsons, QC will talk on the principles guaranteeing arbitrator impartiality, changes to the IBA rules, their applicability and a comparison with other international arbitration rules. Partner Mark Goodrich will moderate the talk and offer some observations based on another recent English case (Cofely v. Bingham) and recent experience of successfully challenging an arbitrator.
The talk will be of interest to arbitrators and all those who manage arbitration cases, especially in sectors where conflicts are common such as shipbuilding and construction.
