"Competition, Compliance & Cartels: Antitrust in the United States" Description: For companies doing business in the U.S., understanding U.S. antitrust and competition rules is a necessary and prudent part of any successful business strategy. These laws are complex, but they govern a broad range of business conduct: interaction with competitors; obtaining and maintaining a dominant market position; forming supplier and customer arrangements; participation in trade associations; and conduct in joint ventures and corporate acquisitions. Indeed, these laws have the potential to impact virtually every aspect of a company's business plan and activities in the marketplace. This presentation will provide an overview of U.S. antitrust law.
The panelists for this presentation include three of the top antitrust partners from DLA Piper LLP, including the Co-Chair of the firm’s Antitrust & Trade Regulation Group and a leader of the Global Cartel Practice. The panel will cover topics from government investigations and class actions, including the potential civil and criminal liabilities. The presentation will also provide some of the best practices for compliance and preventative measures.
Speakers (Bio attached): Lesli Esposito (DLA Piper Philadelphia) John M. Hillebrecht (DLA Piper New York) John Daiwon Huh (DLA Piper Philadelphia)
