Legal and contractual challenges of the COVID-19 crisis for international construction and engineering projects. The lessons learned from global responses so far.

More than six months have now passed since the WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. International construction and engineering projects, across all sectors, have been hit hard by disrupted global supply chains, restrictions on movement of personnel and a cash-flow squeeze as many of the world’s leading economies are pushed into recession by the impact of public health countermeasures.

In this Webinar, partners from White & Case’s global Construction and International Arbitration teams, along with a guest speaker from Blackrock Expert Services, will share insights and lessons learned from a survey of the legal and contractual responses adopted by contractors and project owners as they struggle to overcome the challenges of the pandemic and protect their legal and commercial positions. The speakers will also consider what the future may hold and the developing norms for managing the pandemic legal risk on construction projects.
